The Happy Day
St. Petersburg, Russia 2009
A bride and groom stopped their wedding cavalcade to pose for photos in front of St. Isaac’s Cathedral. The bride pirouetted and posed. The groom took her in his arms and “dipped” her until her golden hair nearly touched the ground. Tipsy wedding guests draped themselves over the stretch SUV limo and observed. It was a day the bride and groom would remember forever.
Normally I would not shoot a wedding party. Boring! But they were the best thing going that morning. Street signs and street lights and statues cluttered the view of the cathedral. While I worked on this photo, I changed my mind. They both look so happy!
