Watermen of Inle Lake

The Fisherman

Burma 2011

We spent several hours photographing the leg rowing fishermen of Inle Lake. There were several of us in the boat and, I hate to complain, but often my position was not a good one. This caused me to miss some shots that I badly wanted. I kept shooting though. For this one, one I like very much, I could have reached out and grabbed the fisherman’s net. I scooted down in the boat as far as I could and with my lens as wide as it would go, I shot as many times as I could. This is my best.
