Vortex in Burma

Vortex

Mandalay, Burma 2011

I was in a shop selling handicrafts. In Burma, that’s a good thing because the hands that make the crafts are Burmese hands. No meretricious Chinese wares or hokey t-shirts.

I noticed some statues of women holding jars of some sort. I got a shot  And although I liked my shot, it didn’t seem to have a meaning.  Then a few days ago, I learned, from Jim Zuckerman, about a Photoshop filter called polar coordinates (find it under filters>distort>polar coordinates).  I looked for a suitable shot and decided on my little statues. It’s not my usual, but it works. Now I have some other ideas. That’s the fun part.
