painting of Blessed Virgin on busy street corner in Rome

Street Corner in Rome

Rome 2015

I remembered these street corner holy pictures from twenty years ago. They are part of the Italian culture as well as a symbol of the Catholic church.  I’m glad the paintings and statues are still in place in this metropolitan city. Someone would have objected to them if they were in America and there would be a legal battle and most likely they would be taken down.  But if they plastered elephant dung on the painting, well, it would be in a museum. Do you understand? I don’t.

Today’s photo lesson: Look up when you are walking…turn and look behind you, the aspect will surprise you…stop when you see a façade that catches your eye and wait for the perfect person to come by. Your photo will come to you if you are patient.
