Holy Trinity Church, Addis Ababa, 2013
The Ethiopians are predominantly Christian and from my observations they are devout. Here they pay homage to Christ on a special holy day despite a rather heavy downpour.
The church interior was similar to a Roman Catholic church or maybe a Church of England church because there were pews. Pews are usually lacking in Orthodox churches. There were beautiful stained glass windows casting a soft warm light. Worshippers used prayer books in their devotions. Long yellow candles were ablaze in front of icons or held by those praying. Lovely and inspiring.
This is, for me, an absolutely lovely photo. J.
