The Boys of Bucharest

Romanian soldiers patrol Bucharest after the fall of Ceausescu

After the ’89 Revolution

Bucharest, Romania 1989

We came upon theseĀ  young andĀ somber looking young men as we walked the streets of Bucharest. The despot Ceausescu, and his wife, had been killed, the miners had just ransacked the city and here they were, supposed to keep law and order without a gun.

Free of burdens such as their fathers bore, present day young men stroll through the old town of Bucharest looking for fun.
