Temple at Bagan

Three boy monks pray in front of a gleaming Buddha in Bagan Burma

Temple at Bagan

Burma 2011

Temples of all sizes dot the plains of Bagan from castle-like structures to stupas. Some, like this one, have interior halls with statues of Buddha. A shaft of sunlight lit the gold leaf covered statue as our monk models kowtowed for us.

Using a white vignette and sepia toning gives an antique look to the photo. It is amazing how much darkening and lightening of different areas of a photo can change the mood. I like the retro look but I try not to over do it. That would be boring…to you.  Not to me.
