Sunday afternoons you can find me at my computer trying to overcome my left brain. It isn’t easy for me. I constantly have to give myself permission to be wild and crazy. But when I do and when I like it, it always makes me happy.
I tried to make this photo of a young girl I saw on the streets of Yushou look like a studio portrait. I had seen some colorful and beautiful fashion portraits of ethnic women on Pinterest and tried to copy those. I didn’t succeed. I don’t know if it is possible. I think if I had changed the background to black or some dark color, it would help. But Sundays are fun-days and taking out backgrounds is not fun for me.
I did a little painting on this portrait of a stork. I had to take out telephone guy-wires and add in some feathers on her breast. I added the highlight in her eye as well. It makes her look as if she is thinking. The squiggley background was done using Snap Art 3. Then I used a white vignette to give it an old fashioned touch.
Between Photoshop and a cappuccino, I forgot all my worries for a few hours.
