Here are two photos of a lighthouse near Charleston, SC called the Morris Island Lighthouse. That little red perpendicular mark is the lighthouse. I only had a wide angle lens with me and I had to make the best of it. Actually, I like the mini lighthouse on my choppy sea.
It is good practice to take only one lens with you when you go out to photograph. That way you will learn the capabilities of the lens and you might discover a new favorite viewpoint. At first, it will seem limiting and you’ll be wishing for the other lenses in your kit, so it is best to do this near home, a place that you can return to if necessary with that long lens. I wouldn’t do it on a once in a lifetime vacation.
I made a photo painting as well using Alien Skin’s new version of Snap Art…Snap Art 3. You can download a 15 day free trial and they don’t put a big watermark on the final photo so you’ll have some nice ones to keep. I’d get a bunch together so I could get a lot done in 15 days, if my budget was tight at the present. And whose isn’t, I’d like to know.
I hope these pictures remind you of happy days when you were a child.
