Spring Snow in the Carpathians
Maramures, Romania 2012
Although the trees in Bucharest were beginning to bud, snow was still falling in Maramures. A bright sun broke through the clouds and cleared the roads, melting the snow, before the crews could get to it. My guide and I sped over the empty, curving roads to Brasov. It was Palm Sunday and Romanians had gone to Grandma’s house to enjoy the day with family.
