A Hamar warrior, with his meticulously scarred torso, crosses our path and accedes to our request for a photo. We shot from a worm’s eye viewpoint to emphasize his height and lean, muscular build. Turning the photo into a black and white makes his scarification more noticeable. He’s proud of each mark; they are a badge of honor. One look at his face and at his scars and you know you are dealing with a man who can take care of himself.
