Biting the Dust

cowboy falling from bucking horse

Oh, I hate when this happens!

I like to go to the county fair to shoot the rodeo every year. Here’s one of my shots.

With modern cameras and a good place to shoot from, it is easy to get a shot like this. No skill necessary. But I love it because it says “America”. Everyone loves a cowboy.

I like to go to the animal judging, too. So far I haven’t gotten a good shot. I looked at rabbits and chickens…did you know they are exotic? The Polish chicken has feathers all over his/her head like a little pompom. And rabbits have huge floppy ears like beagles…so fun to look at. But they were in cages and behind barriers so no one could feed them a corndog or deepfried Twinkie or take their picture for that matter. I needed to be there during judging or, even better, before judging when they were being groomed.

That reminds me, I looked for those Twinkies. I couldn’t find them. Maybe this year.
