Retro Angkor Thom

Angkor Thom Gate with pedicab

Entrance to Angkor Thom

Angkor Thom 2011

The gate to Angkor Thom without tourists. How did that happen unless this shot was taken fifty years ago? and that couldn’t be because they didn’t have roads or motorcycle- powered pedicabs in those days.

To be honest, tourists “ruined” this shot but with Photoshop, you can get rid of anything you don’t want. You can manipulate the colors to give a retro look. (Something I do as often as I can.) And don’t forget, you can add a sky that will add panache instead of just being empty, white space.

I’m not ashamed to tell you my secrets…you probably know them already…because I just noticed the cover of Bill Bryson’s new book, “The Road to Little Dribbling” has a photo on the cover that is a composite of four photos. The scene is an English village with a beautiful cloud filled blue sky, a red English mail box, a sheep in the foreground and each element is from a different photographer. It says so right there on the dust jacket. I’m wondering who put these elements together. It sounds like a new job description.
