The bill for a pizza, a plate of pasta and a slice of chocolate cake, shared, and two coffees came to more than ten thousand som. One U.S. dollar equaled thousands of som then…now the dollar equals 2500 som. We wore money belts and used to carry as much money as we could stuff into them…we didn’t figure the amounts, we calculated by the thickness of a wad of bills.
