A Uigar boy holds the horses at Kasghar market while his dad is othewise occupied. You can see the pride in the boy’s face. He has been trusted by his dad to take care of the horses and wagon and to guard whatever they have purchased in the sack at his feet. I don’t think this is his first time to have the lines in his hand. He holds them and the whip as if it is second nature.
I had the feeling that he thought I was up to no good with my camera and his face tells me he won’t tolerate any funny business. Maybe if I’d only taken one shot, but I took several.
I like his manly stance and his bold stare. He is a boy with confidence.
