chefchouan woman in market selling onions

Onions for Sale

Chefchouan, Morocco 2006

An old woman makes a few pennies selling onions, garlic and some other stuff. She sits by a wall in her neighborhood arranging and rearranging her produce. Maybe the message of this photo isn’t as bleak as it seems. She might have a wonderful family who takes care of her and knows that she enjoys her little “shop” because it enables her to interact with the neighbors.

And if she is alone…at least she isn’t begging. She’s earning her way the best she can. Kudos to her. Independence. It’s a good thing.

      Hi, Mary.

I used to have those things…haven’t even missed them which tells you that I’m antediluvian. I’ll get my wordpress guru to fix it for me. Thanks!
