Two Horses in Shadow

When you have an ordinary scene and you want something out of the ordinary. first figure out what you like about your image and then figure out how to emphasize that quality.
This photo is of two horses in an ordinary pose. What I liked was the repetition of the lines in their heads, especially the jaws, and necks. I used multiply blend mode to get all as black as I could. I used a layer mask to bring back the white of their coat, and Gaussian blur to give a glow to the whole thing. Sometimes simple is best. Maybe most of the time.
