Garden at the Summer Palace

Perspective

Russia 2009… about 50 miles from St. Petersburg, on the grounds of the Summer Palace (Tsarskoye Selo).

Catherine the Great used to walk here. It is easy to imagine her strolling along, dressed in beautiful gowns, chatting with her lovers.

This picture shows perspective. The lines of the walk, the trees and the sky seem to converge into a single point in the middle of the horizon line. Restful, isn’t it?

Great pic! The green is really fresh – and you are right, the picture is restful.

      Hi, Mary.
Those great greens are seen in northern climates…It’s the light. The day I shot this was cloudy. I think that is the best light for the blackish greens.
Thanks for being a faithful visitor to my blog.
