A donkey cart clattered past. A man and woman huddled together rode on top, each wrapped in a private world of sadness. The woman was obviously ill. She leaned on her husband for strength. He held her as closely as any man holds his wife in public in their culture. Their faces were filled with fear. She looked devastated. He, too, was devastated but his expression held a grim determination. ” …in sickness and in health”… it applies to us all.
