Ethiopia: September 2013
An Abore woman stands near a hut in a tribal village near Turmi. The tribes are familiar with tourists arriving to photograph them and they want money for each photo. Our group arranged with the chief to be paid a blanket price and we were to be free to photograph as desired. This situation didn’t last long. The Abore soon felt that they had had enough and became argumentative and somewhat aggressive. Her skeptical expression says it all.
