Kazakhstan 2016
Kazakhstan is the third largest country in the world…Russia and China are the other two geographical giants. While China is filled with people and things to photograph, Kazakhstan, like the eastern part of Russia, is filled with empty landscapes. Barren mountains and scrubby deserts as far as the eye can see.
So, no wonder we stopped at a cemetery now and then. At least the cemeteries had these cute little mausoleums that looked like beehive houses and little onion domed mosques or churches.
I got out my plug-ins to get this shot ready to show you. I wanted to add drama and intrigue to a shot of desolation on the steppes.
I used Nik Filters; Silver Effects and Color Effects on this shot. I still haven’t gotten these plug-ins into Photoshop 2017. If you know how, let me know. I’ve tried. Luckily, I still have CS6 and I’m not going to update it!
