BeJeweled

a bejeweled temple in Bangkok's Grand Palace

Grand Palace Temple

Bangkok, Thailand 2007

A portion of one of the temples at Bangkok’s Grand Palace. The graceful eaves with the golden ‘finials’ form the base for the bejeweled chorten or stupa that is typical of Buddhist architecture.

The Grand Palace is a complex of temples and palaces and manicured gardens. You’d think it would be easy to get a good composition but it wasn’t.  I tried to isolate interesting parts of the architecture or I’d use one of the many statues as foreground for architecture.
